Great article! I absolutely love Ada Lovelace and I wish more people knew about her. Not only was she a genius and total badass, she also has an awesome name... also I might be slightly obsessed with her debonair father.

Grace Hopper is also a really interesting person — did you know she originated the term "computer bug"? I've been meaning to write about her soon.

Unfortunately, our knowledge of events regarding feminism, anti-racism, etc. is fairly limited to our home state of NC. I wouldn't let this discourage you, however, because if you look for resources, I promise they will appear. Check out this site. I hope it is helpful. http://philanow.org/resources.html I would also encourage you to consider hosting events yourself. Every great movement starts small, so perhaps invite some friends you think would be interested to have a casual discussion about something relevant to you and your experiences. You never know what will grow from that!

My name is Ebony Montgomery, and I am a student here at UNC. I play professional womens full contact football for a team called the Carolina Phoenix.

I thought that this organization would be interested in and may possibly come out to Durham County Stadium this spring to watch us play. Women's athletics could always use supporters. We are currently ranked #3 in the nation, and we are in pursuit of a national championship. You can find our schedule at www.carolinaphoenixfootball.com. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at esmontgo@email.unc.edu.

Thank you,
